Scalable Solutions

Eltek’s Scalable line of power solutions is comprised of configurable components designed to meet the needs of Central Offices and other high-power DC applications. A variety of rectifier bays provides 48V DC output ranging from 3000A to 20,000A (if cabled).

Distribution options offer everything from bulk output to circuit breakers, fuses, and even overhead bus arrangements with shunts.

Plant Configurations

The expanded NetSure™ 802 Series introduces separate, stand-alone power and distribution bays complementing the system’s compact combination bays and integrating easily with existing AC infrastructure. In addition, this system offers the highest efficiency, power factor corrected, 3-Phase input rectifier on the market. Overall system density now becomes a function of the number of load points that the end customer requires.

The base system offering provides a space savings of nearly 30% over conventional switch-mode power plants without sacrificing the overall cable management of the plant. The addition of integral AC Distribution (PDSC), battery disconnects, and comprehensive LMS1000 monitoring capabilities add value to the overall DC Power offering. The NetSure™ platform integrates these features into the entire DC system seamlessly with a depth of features never before seen in the industry.

Another primary concern addressed with this power system is the field safety of both the installation teams as well as the maintenance teams once the system is operational. With a fully enclosed bus system, the system provides a simple bolt-on solution for complete bay expansion that connects the –48 VDC and return busses with a single part per polarity. This element reduces the need for hundreds of pounds of copper and hours of assembly time during the installation or expansion process, along with allowing the system to be deployed into lower ceiling height buildings as well as raised floor data centers.

The NetSure™ 802 may be configured with traditional main battery termination bars. For these applications, we recommend EA343441 Series bars available in standard capacities from 4,000 amps to 16,000 amps.

Netsure 502 DC Power System

This highly flexible DC power system is available in bulk output shelves, integrated distribution shelves or externally mounted distribution panel systems. These alternatives are optimal for rack-mounting in any building, shelter or cabinet installation.

NetSure™ 502 is easily integrated into any Emerson outdoor enclosure when a pre-manufactured space-efficient outdoor solution is needed. The system can also be shipped loose or mounted in a relay rack with battery trays. The three following core configurations define the combination of rectifier and distribution shelves and determine the ultimate capacity of the system.

Bulk Output Distribution

The bulk solution provides an easy method for upgrading inefficient and/or obsolete rectifiers without the expense of buying a new DC plant. When distribution is already available and bulk –48 VDC power is needed, these (2) new configurations are ideal. Bulk output connection points are provided on the rear or top of these shelves. Optional AC input is available through top or rear access to the system. Up to 400 A of power is provided in up to 6 RU of space. Mount the system in a 19″ or 23″ rack, connect your load cables, plug-in AC cords, add rectifiers and you are ready to provide power.

External Distribution Panel

If multiple distribution points are needed our 23″ system provides up to (39) load bullet breaker positions and up to 9 battery disconnect positions. In a 19″ system, there are up to 29 load bullet breaker positions and 9 battery disconnect positions. Bullet breakers up to 250 A can be used in this panel. An optional GMT fuse panel is available for GMT fuses. This system offers up to 600 A output current capacity in 14 RU of space.

NetSure™ 721 Power System

The modular NetSure™ 721 power system with 3500 watt or 2000 watt high efficiency rectifiers and 1500 watt DC to DC converters provides up to 4000 amps of current for –48 volt systems with up to 930 amps at +24 volts. The basic components of the power system include the ACU+ control unit, module mounting shelf assemblies which house the rectifiers and converters, and a modular distribution cabinet.

The NetSure™ 721 power system contains a powerful, microprocessor-based control system capable of monitoring and controlling up to 60 rectifiers and converters. The ACU+ controller provides a 4×16-character alphanumeric display, which can be activated at the touch of a keypad.

The NetSure™ 721 can be expanded to up to three distribution bays for a total capacity of 4000 amps and up to twelve distribution panels. Each NetSure™ 721 distribution cabinet is modular by row and position. Four distinct distribution cabinet sizes are available to accommodate from one to four distribution panels. This allows the system to be configured in relay racks of various heights for installation in low-profile sites or atop batteries or other equipment to make more effective use of floor space. Several distribution panels are available offering different combinations of distribution positions, low voltage disconnect and battery disconnect options.

Distribution device options include 1 amp to 250 amp bullet-style circuit breakers, 3 amp to 125 amp TPS-style fuses in plug-in bullet-style holders, 100 amp to 800 amp GJ/218-style circuit breakers, 70 amp to 250 amp TPL-B style fuses and 70 amp to 800 amp TPH-style fuses. These devices can be configured for both –48 V load and battery disconnect and +24 V load (bullet devices only). A GMT fuse module is also available.

NetSure™ 801 is Emerson’s latest high-density power system. It offers the increased flexibility of a cabled plant in a centralized or distributed architecture. The system consists of individual power bays and distribution bays that may be configured to meet any application requirement. The primary applications for this system are wireline central offices, wireless MTSOs and data centers requiring nominal –48 VDC systems rated from 2,000 amps to 20,000 amps.
